Thankyou for that Norman. I was driving home from Luton
at that time and saw nothing other than rain - not even
windscreen sleet - but I've just this moment (2235z) taken
my big halogen lamp outside and it's now 90% snow,
though only slight, and the temperature is 1.8°C.
But for the alert I would probably have missed it!

So that's the light I can see down here in Kempston Temperature
falling fast (now 3oc) here however can't see anything like snow on the
camera, suppose I should open the door.

Just got me out checking too Norman. Rain turned to Sleet
30/70 snow/rain mix, temperature +3.6c. at 2310z.
Picked up the Northerly here at 1930z. Not a hint of sleet
as I stumbled back from a pint of shandy at 2215z
Thanks, I'd have missed it too without your post.

Ian,

No, I wouldn't have missed it ... heavy snow took the
temperature down to 0.4°C at 2315z, with accumulation
of 1 to 2cm on grass ... now back to sleet, with
snow-cover quickly melting, and a temp of 1.8°C (0005z).
