I saw that too Will. Was looking for guidance as to how they calculate
their surface gusts as it's clearly not a site-related gust ratio from
looking at the other forecast gusts for Blackpool. Any pointers as to how
it's done?

Cheers

Uses boundary layer dynamics straight from the high resolution model and a
few "tuning" factors to allow for local detail.

Know if there's any documentation about it anywhere or is it all kept
internally?

Cheers

Have the BBC reporters arrived from London yet?

Yawn. Still you'll be alright soon-
"Mr Thompson also announced a major new BBC media centre in Manchester,
describing it as "reconnecting with communities across the UK", but he added
it would be at least five years before a major move north. " ;-)

Seems odd that a coastal site should have such a high gust to mean wind
ratio, almost a factor of two.

It is starting to get very blustery down here in Sussex, and this area is
not even under a weather warning.

Manchester United never won last weekend. That's why. That's the last
news headlines I can remember anyway.

Anyone know who won the triple crown?
