There's a RMetS meeting this week that will be of interest to many on
this ng, whether professional or amateur meteorologists: details
below. The meeting will include guidance on the installation and
operation of meteorological sensors, with particular emphasis on
stations outside the 'official' networks including amateur sites.

Registration is required, online (today/tomorrow) or I'm sure
registrations can be accepted 'on the door' too so if you're
interested, turn up late morning Wednesday at Imperial College in
Kensington SW7.

An all day meeting organised by the Special Interest Group on
Meteorological Observing Systems

This meeting is intended to give an insight into issues relating to
quality control of meteorological observations. It is intended to
reflect concerns among both users and providers of meteorological data
regarding quality control and standards for meteorological
observations. To help address these concerns, the Society has produced
guidance on the installation and operation of sensors and this will be
presented
