despite the rain and wind ....
.... based on Hurn airport (Dorset - MetO/24hr) data, the provisional
mean 24hr temperature as of 09Z this morning (27th) was 14.2°C (+2.5C 1971-2000 LTA). The previous highest mean May temperature (based on the data listed on the MetO 'historical' site) was also 14.2°C in 1998, in a data record from 1957 incl. We've got a few days to go, but it should either hold at that value, or creep up above it. With the 43 mm of rain at Hurn over the past 3 days, the total for the month is now rather healthy, representing 111% of the LTA, whereas before the weekend, is was going to be a dry month. [ for info, 48 mm here in West Moors, but a non-standard site.] Martin. -- Martin Rowley West Moors, East Dorset (UK): 17m (56ft) amsl Lat: 50.82N Long: 01.88W NGR: SU 082 023 |

Interesting to compare with the VP down the road at work ( 1.5miles east) on Thursday..very similar usually but when inside a showery regime, the differences either way, become slightly greater. Another 12mm maybe Wednesday morning.. R |
