Default Warm and settled at 10 days.

It always could Nick!

Oh no, don't say that. After last year's disappointing, though not a
complete wash-out of a summer, I really am hoping for something more like
2005 or 2006 with long, settled warm spells.

PS Well done getting your Otter Valley summary onto the local BBC SW TV
forecast last night, with David Braine! You've had far surprisingly less
rain than we have here.

I thought nobody had noticed!

The east Devon desert!

The sun's just breaking through. The return of the westerlies this morning.
Much cooler and fresher than of late.

(At 10:40), 15.0°C, RH 74%, DP 10.2°C, 1014.2 hPa (R), Wind 13 mph NW.

Yes, a noticably different day, with a moderate NW wind here. I'm
sitting in the kitchen, with the door open to let the dog out to dry
(yet again, after he chased rabbits in the wet barley fields this
morning) and I've had to don a fleece.

Surely not! A fleece in balmy Dawlish.....

Starting to feel much warmer here in the sunshine after a cool start. Just
cut the grass (dang it, needs a mowing twice a week at the moment).

How did that get through my killfiles anyway?
Guess it needs updating.

He can get through killfiles if he is replied to without snipping him

Yes I know, but for some reason his own post got through, wasnt quoted in
anyone elses.

And Paul.. another advantage of not using google groups and using a
newsreader is that the nutters such as the one who replied to your post can
be filtered out... very handy in unmoderated areas such as most Usenet
groups.

Nah. I'd never wish to filter anyone out. I've always got the choice
as to whether to reply to people who are talking out of their bum, or
completely ignore them because they are talking out of their bum - and
I'm getting much better at the latter! I don't quite see why you
changed the thread title again, Jim. Mind you, it's all quite fun,
nutters, or not (I don't think you are, in the slightest!) and I may
change to using a newsreader group, but I'm not sure my work filter
would allow it through.

Nutters, stalkers, purveyors of idiocy and silly theories, abusive
maniacs with little else to do with their time, nutters and even more
nutters, are all there on the Internet. Such a rich world.
Fortunately, all of those form a very small minority - though several
have made it to moderators on some sites *)) - and will always be, as
they reflect real life pretty accurately and most people I've met
there have been highly reasonable and want to talk about mutual
interests.

Still looking good for settled and warm weather next week........and
it could last longer!

Paul

Didnt notice the subject change.. it wasnt intentional - I just hit reply!!
Have changed it back now.

Back on topic.. good to see the prospect at least of some more settled
weather, though I wont believe it till it's here - the models have been that
unreliable of late. Really need to see that high pressure to the north gone,
and the pressure a few millibars at the very least higher at Berne ;-) for a
sustained pattern change.

I'm getting married on July 5th and off to Guernsey afterwards on honeymoon,
so I am desperate for a non-repeat of last year, or another 1988/98!!
Fingers crossed.....

Jim.

Ha! You fool you! My own wedding was on, what I remember to be, the
only decent sunny, warm day in the summer of 1985! Bound to be sunny
on July 5th and Guensey will be sun drenched for weeks afterwards!

Best wishes for the day, Paul

PS Some shifting around of that high next week. I have few worries
about the Azores high pushing NE, but I hope it doesn't decide to
settle to the West of us, instead of over us. A northerly would
scupper the warmth! Friday and into early next week looks very warm
and sunny at present. 8))

Got married on the 11th June 2004. Gorgeous day! Sunny and warm then had a
big BBQ in the evening in my garden, the weather could not have been better.

Went to Scotland the next day on our honeymoon. Left in blazing sunshine,
arrived in Glen Nevis in rain/mist/wind/cold. That's how it stayed for the
next 2 weeks.

Arrived back in sunshine and was told how nice it had been down 'ere.

Still, it didn't dampen us having a wonderful time.

I tied the knot back in the last century on 16th January,
a month I recommend for weddings, because you are
prepared for any weather other than heat. It was an
overcast day which provided a perfect even lighting
for photography, breezy and very mild with the air
temp nudging +14C... hey, just 1 degree cooler
than today!

Nigel
