Default Lawn, what lawn?

Taken this morning. We've never seen it in such poor condition due to
the lack of recent rain.

Looks like a perfectly normal southern England lawn at this time of year.

well I have just played golf and for the first time this year we have a bit
of run on the ball. The course is immaculate and the fairways lush and well
cropped. Even so, the couse has firmed up in the last four days. My drives
today were the longest since last September.

Looks like my lawn from about mid-July until mid-September in most years,
though without any of those green patches whatsoever.

At present I have the lushest (is that a word? If not, it should be)
lawn. It was laid last October and since then, it has had the perfect,
rain/sun weather to get established. All the vegetation down here has
gone completely mad this June and the only bad thing is that the lawn
shouts "cut me please!!" every day that I walk past it, whether I cut
it yesterday, or not!

....so it wasn't remarkable for you. However, it is remarkable for us
which is why I remarked on it.

Five minutes after I saw that and I'm still giggling. Please don't do it
again as I shan't be able to eat.

Sorry, I can't speak (or laugh) for the Scots as I'm English.
