Dewpoint 16.5C, air temperature currently 19.8C following a few bursts
of sunshine when it reached 20.2C. Light wind so feeling very, very muggy, a warm night ahead. Ideal conditions for raising the SST though. On the subject of warm nights, I believe the highest minimum temperature ever recorded in Cornwall was at St Mawgan in August 2003 (23C) - Unless someone knows better! Just looked out - bursts of sunshine again. Often the case near sea level in SE facing Penzance under these conditions, nice hole in the low crowd just over the seafront. Misty on west facing coasts still www.chapelidne.com/php/surf_report.php Graham Penzance |

Would that hole in the crowd be because of the humidity Graham or folk
trying to get away from the endless Cornish sunshine ?? RonB "Graham Easterling" wrote in message ... RonB Very sharp Ron, especially as you've just had a beer! What temperature are you showing at 16.15. It's saying 25.1C here which strikes me as being a bit high? Dave, S.Essex |

My max was just 21.6 at 3-29BST Dave, low as usual because of the large oak
tree shading to the southwest. Unlike the troglodytes on this group I 'LUV' this higher humidity and being able to take my vest off, lets hope it doesn't get FRESHER for a few days..... Ideal conditions for raising the SST though. Felt muggy over my way too, Graham, with Exeter now reporting a dew point of 17C (air temp 19C). A plume of high theta-w air (16+) is advecting east so air temperatures are likely to be even higher tomorrow assuming a decent amount of insolation to the lee of high ground across southern areas. 00Z MetO GM theta-w http://meteocentre.com/models/ukmet_...W_00_panel.gif The 12Z GFS indicating low 20s with 25/26C probable in the SE http://91.121.93.17/pics/Rmgfs274.gif Jon. Currently, as you say Exeter Airport is recording 19C and a DP of 17C. Here are my recordings below: (20:40), 17.3°C, RH 82%, DP 14.2°C, 1024.9 hPa (R), Wind 4 mph S. ________________ Nick. (tropical east Devon) Cloud's fairly well broken in Penzance at the moment, (20:40) and there seems to be less low cloud south of Ireland now, so I'm hoping for some spells of sunshine along sheltered parts of the south coast of west Cornwall tomorrow. If so it'll probably causing a mass exodus of holiday makers from the north to south coast of Cornwall around lunchtime. Graham Penzance |

Graham Penzance Lots of caravans, boats, cars full all heading south down A38 this afternoon. Moorland traffic is increasing too, amazing how many cars don't seem to have a reverse gear - even nowadays :-) 2100 Temp. 15.9 DP 14C and max. 18.3C (about normal). Naff all wind and very midgy. Humidity has also given us a plague of flies in the house presumably from the dead bird that fell down through the eaves off its nest a month ago - nice! Will (Haytor, Devon, 1017 feet asl) -- |

Graham Penzance Low level conditions have deteriorated here in the last hour or so with a light a drizzle now falling and lowering vis to the west. Not sure if it's evidence of a deepening boundary layer or just upslope effects; suspect the latter.
