My Falstaff apple tree has come out in blossom again - incredibly
beautiful - wonder if the apples will follow

There has been a complete calm here and the US according to the link
here, all quiet on the western f...errrmmm...:

There was rarely a day without a few cells of something or other this
year.

Can't say I enjoyed the beginning of the spell here but these last few
days have been superb.

I can at last mow all my lawn, instead of just underneath a giant

I know how you feel. I have, at long last, been able to cut one field
for hay. I normally cut two fields but had already given up and put some
cattle on one. At least the one field will mean that my sheep will have
some fodder in the winter. Sighs of relief all round.

Your headers suggest that you're using Demon. Users of Demon's news
service are reporting (in demon.service) problems at the moment, using
alternative news services to post. Of course, until the problem's fixed
you probably won't see this.

I use Demon news and it has been 'pants' for about a year now, very
patchy and often drops out altogether, in fact as fo 23:113 today I
have not had any postings through for today at all on demon. They are
getting worse :-(

The Service Status states everything is wonderful again, yet I just
tried again and it timed out after not being able to connect to the
server, this is like this all the time now !!!

Looking on Demon.service it appears they have a major problem and
don't know how to fix it :-0

Hi Susie,

I thought the same and then realised that my email client Turnpike had
stopped collected news OR demon news is not sending my news requests.

Puzzled... anyone else on Demon or using Turnpike experiencing the same
issues?

Demon's newsserver is broken and has been for a while. Either sign up for NIN
(http://news.individual.net) for 10 euros/year or
http://www.motzarella.org for free.

Check back to about when it went pear shaped and read the tech news
for that time.

I believe that a major server company went tits-up about then. Maybe
Demon were using their routes?

If anyone wants an online fix but is terrified of Google, try this:

Same here using turnpike!

Contacted demon yesterday because I'd not received any news for 4 days!
