Default The New Year Hurricane of Norway 1992

Just found this small video clip on You Tube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VW-87CAi5SU

The video footage have been captured most probably some hours after max
force of the storm.
It was a bordering Cat 2/3 after the Safir-Simpson scale.
Max gust about 230 km/h.
Shows just a tiny bit of the damage.

The storm "Yngve" is hitting Lofoten/Nordland in Norway at the moment but
will not
be like the NewYearHurricane of -92...

Have you checked out what major earthquakes occurred at that time?

Look for double sixes if no mid sevens occurred.

Here is a link to a scientific article in english language about this
200-years hurricane:
http://met.no/?module=Files;action=File.getFile;ID=1623
Actually at the time it was said to be a 300-years hurricane.
The Norwegiam Meteorological Institute (DNMI) incidently have made a
web-page about this
hurricane today, look at:
http://met.no/./?module=Articles;act...icShow;ID=1188 and
http://met.no/./?module=Articles;act...icShow;ID=1080
or just go to met.no. They are unfortunately for most readwers here in
norwegian language.

Happy New Year,
