Default Severn estuary ice

I went down to the Severn Estuary again yesterday just outside of
Frampton in Gloucestershire. The canal was frozen in places, but to my
surprise there were huge sheets of ice floating on the estuary itself.
Given that the water is constantly moving quite quickly with the tides
in that area I was quite surprised. The ice didn't appear to have come
from upstream either because the tide was still coming in as I arrived.
