Instromet - display cabinet change?

Another questions relating to Instromet weather stations...

Does anyone have any experience of changing the display panel?

At the moment we have a large Climatica Executive panel - a very attractive
unit - but when it requires servicing sending it back to Instromet by post
is a pain in the proverbial. The Royal Mail appear to have no respect for
packages marked fragile and the weight of it means that it is very easily
dropped, which it has been on one occasion with damage to the frame.

Would it be possible to replace this panel with the smaller Climatica Plus
unit?

Purchasing one new would be a retrograde step I know...but I have never seen
this system come on the market reconditioned/second hand. It seems that they
last for ever and people don't give them up too easily!

Whatever you do Mike if you are thinking of sending back then don't use
Royal Mail!
I sent my display back for repair, big mistake using Royal Mail.
I have the climatica plus display and despite using lot's of packaging
and clearly marking it fragile, glass, etc, they still managed to
smashed it to bits. I could not get any compensation from Royal Mail
despite having all the proof because Instromet had thrown away my
packaging. I had to buy a new unit which was expensive to say the least
and very annoying!
Last year my wind speed stopped working so I decided to take it to my
father in law who lives in Norfolk and he took it to instromet for
repair and when he came to visit us he bought it back with him, much
safer option!
Not sure if you could replace the Executive panel with the Plus unit!
