Countryfile is apparently moving to a new evening slot at 7pm
from next week. Assuming it's still going to be an hour long programme, that means we won't get the forecast until 7.50. I've been watching the forecast since the mid 80's when it was still the old 'Farming forecast' from the 'Farming' programme. Sunday lunchtime just won't be the same again! -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl |

Well they said on Countryfile that they would still be including the forecast so I kind of assumed that it would be at the end of the programme as it is at the moment. Perhaps it will be a 'repeat', a dangerous thing for a weather forecast of course, under certain conditions ![]() Hope you are right though and it's still shown arounmd midday. -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl |

I hope they start using real programme material now that they have been given an adult slot. I was sick and tired of all the poorly trimmed rehashes of not very in depth stuff they'd been expurgating for the last few years. And if I see another barrel race I will make a point of excommunication. |

Are they moving Highway to lunchtimes? |

John The Countryfile paradox is that the mid-day slot made perfect sense for the times of year when one tends to chooses to be indoors then, but ensures it wouldn't be much seen in summer. In a good year anyway. Could make agreeable Sunday-evening viewing, I suppose. Again, for those of us not still gardening or out for the evening by then. Have tended to only watch it if at all for the forecast, and often to get that from IPlayer later. Now if the forecast could be published on IPlayer at, say, noon on Sunday... great device, IPlayer, for minimising the amount of TV actually watched. -- Peter Thomas |

I thought I heard mention that the forecast would follow another programme of interest to country-lovers - so that we would get two such programmes in one day. -- Rodney Blackall (retired meteorologist)(BSc, FRMetS, MRI) Buckingham, ENGLAND Using Acorn SA-RPC, OS 4.02 with ANT INS and Pluto 3.03j |
