Weather related butterfly influx.
 

They have arrived here within the past couple of days. I didn't see any over
the weekend but there were hundreds of them when I was out walking this
afternoon. The skylarks were in full song as well.

Was that because they were full of butterflies :-?

There were dozens of these 'Painted Ladies' in my garden last May. I
have to report that they have reappeared today. They are obviously
heading south now ahead of the coming severe winter!
