Default Thoughts on Wednesdays low?

Local forecast for the Sussex coast this morning mentioned we could be in
for a battering on Wednesday but there was quite a bit of uncertainty as to
the track of the low, anyone got any thoughts as to this at all?

Am crossing the channel on Wednesday afternoon and would prefer not to be
chasing dinner round tha plate in rough seas!

Robbie

The beauty of rough seas etc in the Channel is that there are going to
be fewer people having dinner and therefore quicker service - and
bigger helpings possibly

http://magicseaweed.com/UK-Ireland-MSW-Surf-Charts/1/ doesn't indicate
anything too exciting in the Channel. Some interesting crossings to
Scilly coming up though, both on Wednesday & possibly more so on
Friday.

More likelihood of rough seas in the west and north-west I would
think. Lots of wind and lots of rain on them there Irish sea
crossings, headlands and upslopes. Perhaps squally in the Channel as
the main trough goes through, but probably a short lived period of
stronger winds during the day. You could get unlucky and some people
could see their lunch again (if you did get caught in stronger winds,
the unfortunate ones wouldn't be trying dinner; I know my wife
wouldn't!) - but then again, the odds are probably against that.

Real 'September' wave.

Evary time I look at that word "sennen", I keep seeing an "m" instead

The main effect of 'Bill', as I have said before, will be widespread heavy
rain. We will have a very warm and wet warm sector (564DAM) and as the
upper trough runs over it, it will de-stabilise and produce embedded
thunderstorms and torrential rain. Wind should not be a problem, just an
ordinary windy depression in that regard.

I got caught up last winter when we were unable to dock at Dover and got
bashed around for nearly three hours, only three folks having lunch and as
much as you could eat!

Trouble was all the loos were engaged!
