Default First Air Frost

Just! -0.1c at 0340, then the cloud rolled in. Could easily have had a
number of air frosts in the last week, but cloud moving in has been a
feature in this period, so not a long clear night yet.

Fantastic news, colder weather is slowly coming south!
Yet more boring high pressure on the way, but at least there will be the
prospect of some frost this time.

Boring - Yes!
I've hardly made a post in months because I've been bored! Anything
will do, rain, wind - something!
Had a fresh load of logs delivered last week Will.

Lead Mill min was -2.1C max 11.4C
Met O max 11.1C under 10.5hr sun yesterday (50hr so far this month,
50% of the October average already.)
A blip today, but sun back over the weekend, and nights are looking
milder.
Mean screen 8.0C to date which is exactly the 1971-2000 October
average.

Boring weather?? Did you not get the gale last Saturday, Dave? Copley

I've been busy the past few weeks filling my log shed. Bought a new chopping
maul to deal with some big beech rounds. Always makes me feel good chopping
wood as I know that winter is not too far away. Rain has stopped now and the
sun popped out for a brief while, but it is now clouding over again.

Sunny boring high pressures are fine for me :-) In fact, any weather
type that shortens the dreary lowland central Southern England winter
to the shortest length possible is fine with me.

Nope!
Couple of leaves came down and the odd nut off the beech tree. That's
a valley location for you, anything E-W goes straight over the top.
Now a roaring Northerly down the valley is a different proposition.
Oh, nearly forgot, rumble of thunder on Tuesday afternoon - that was
exciting! In fact, that was just about the most exciting weather
since............Feb?
Will drop in soon Ken, have been driving close to you a few times
recently. If Paul from Brampton is around -Ping! Have been there a
couple of times recently and back again soon.

Thunder? What's that to then?
Not had a rumble of thunder here since 7/6/08 and I'm really missing it :-(
