Well, snow pellets actually.
After several days with similar temperatures, sunny periods & mainly light winds Min Max 15th 5.3 8.9 16th 4.4 8.3 17th 3.9 8.0 The wind really picked up (Force 4-5) last night. The temperature dropped to 0.8C, but was back up to 3.0C by 09:00, with the wind crossing the Penwith peninsula from the north coast, rather than the really cold ENE direction. Being off the sea, the wind has also brought a few very light snow pellet showers. If the wind backs slightly more we could get some heavy showers on the tip of Cornwall, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. Graham Penzance |

Graham Penzance Fairly sunny day, but always more cloud (small/medium cumulus mainly) just to the west. Recently one of these gave a very light snow flurry. ( www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/index.html - half hearted dangler?) Mainly cloud free just to the east. Maximum temperature 4.7C making it easily the lowest max of the Autumn/ Winter, and the lowest max since 2nd Feb. This assumes it doesn't rise overnight, which is possible as temperatures down here flutuate considerably in conditions like this. Graham Penzance |
