Yes that's always a good one along with "and the worst is yet to
come", which is always automatically added to any report of "bad"
weather. It never is!

"The second cold spell this winter!"
and
"Blah de Blah in the south has been hardest hit"
and
"They're used to it up north"
and
It's remained cold in the north for "more than a week now"
and
"Blizzard conditions" when there's light snow and calm conditions with a
dusting on the ground.

worst of all;
Severe warnings for widespread icy conditions.
After 4 weeks of nothing but ice, I think I've realised that's what the
slippery layer on the ground is. I don't need a severe warning to tell me
that every single day, time and time again.

Reporters being sent off to some far flung part of the London empire
to report on some forecasted snow, only to be seen standing in a green
(rural) or grey (urban) snowless setting. Hereford provided an
excellent example of this a couple of weeks ago.

I understand that "train station" is an Americanism. OTOH we talk about
bus stations rather than "road stations". It's arguably more logical to
use the name of the vehicle.

last night ,perhaps down to -15 ,and that is despite a strengthening wind
and repeated cloud cover,perhaps he was reading the Caingorm forecast

In these highly technological days is it not possible for the
forecaster on BBCtv to point to the correct location on the map of
England, Scotland & Wales instead of pointing at different regions of
Ireland?
