So far Shetland has had a rather benign winter, a good northerly is always interesting up there though, experienced one myself one November many years ago - fantastic, plenty of spindrift and ice! I remember walking back down the hill from Lerwick Observatory after a 'do' there. It was bitterly cold and there was a gale blowing. It's ice that is causing the problem because the Roads Contractor didn't perform on the trunk road network |
