Same line seemed to pass over the Southampton area at just before
0800. Just in time for the period of daylight when people are up!

You're telling me!!! (Though Evershot will get it slightly better than
places further east, I guess)

Seems this high is now cancelled, it looks like today, tomorrow and
Saturday will be yet more cool, cloudy days except in the west, Sunday
will be nice, then we get a low moving southeast to northwest next
week and deepening, effectively writing off the whole of next week!
Mind you the southwesterlies at the end of the week might come as a
relief after the dire-looking cyclonic NElies at the beginning...

GFS then follows with a settled spell the following week, perhaps.
I'll believe that when I see it, it's one too many promised highs.
Whatever Will is predicting for the end of the month, I doubt it'll be
much worse than what's predicted next week!

Autumn is already here, August 2010 looks like being a decidedly bad
summer month (owing to coolness and cloudiness more than rain amount)
and summer 2010 will, from a qualitative perspective, be average at
best round here. Oh well, the last run of disappointing summers
(1985-88) was a run of four, and that was followed by two hot ones...

Here's to an Indian summer!
