http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...axe-3-weather- presenters-including-Tomasz-Schafernaker-cost-cutting-drive.html Rob McElwee? Good grief... I know some people here don't like his style, which is fair enough, but my (very non-scientific, very anecdotal) evidence is that he's highly popular with (that dread term) "ordinary viewers". Unless, as speculated elsewhere in this thread, he actually wanted to move away from on-camera role, this seems like a completely bonkers decision. To put it mildly, I think the BBC may have shot themselves in the foot, too. I'd be amazed if there wasn't some sort of "Don't Dump Rob!" campaign gearing up already, and if so then I'm sure other media outlets would be delighted to give it space. I doubt we've heard the last of this... -- Bewdley, Worcs. 90m asl. |

Well, with three real meteorologists to be axed from BBC, what are we
left with? Non-meteorologists employed for personality (??? ) rather than having in-depth understanding of the weather. Isn't that called "dumbing down"? Jack |
