I am getting married next Saturday (30th), and was wondering whether anyone here is brave enough to have a punt at what the weather's going to be like in Yateley, Hants. * I'll go for sunny in the morning, clouding over in the afternoon. I was right about the weather following St Swithun's Day and about the heavy rain we have had latter, so perhaps it will be third time lucky for you and your bride :-). Good luck anyway, despite what the weather brings on your wedding day. Cheers, Alastair. Since Ian will probably have other matters on his mind tonight, I thought it best for me to congratulate myself for forecasting his Wedding Day weather correctly! The BBC forecast for Yateley today is: After a dry and fine start with some sunshine, a few showers are likely to develop by midday. Most of these should be well-scattered with some places staying dry. Which is not what you said, so your self-congratulations are somewhat premature. As you merely said sunny in the morning, clouding over in the afternoon - and some parts of Hampshire have had showers already; plus it looks like they may get a temporary improvement this afternoon, it could be argued that you were 100% wrong. Here in Wimborne, Dorset we have a clear blue sky. If anyone has a weather report from closer to Yateley, I would be interested in hearing it. Cheers, Alastair. |

Cheers, Alastair.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Try the weather radar from the MetO? It clearly shows showers passing through Hampshire earlier this morning. You've actually tried to say you are right from 12 days ago, by using a BBC *forecast* from early this morning, before the day has actually happened! Always best to wait until the forecast time has passed before telling people you've got it right, I say. If you happen to get it right, like I say; good guess, well done. |

I know it's a long way out, but I thought I'd get your forecasting brains warmed up for the long cold winter ahead ;o) Ian When you come down from the clouds and the honeymoon: I hope the day was great. Let us know what the weather was like! |
