Reading Darren's 2001 post, I wonder whatever happened to Nguk?

There must be many from the 1990's and the early naughties who have
gone missing.

Anyone remember any sadly missed posters?

Along with Neil (Nguk), Danny (West Kent) always sticks in the mind. Oh, and
a mystic from Crowthorne, not sure what happened to him but there were
rumours of a nasty accident with an axe.

I think Neil was a snow loving weather enthusiast. Occasionally went off
the rails aa bit but not as offensive as some who appear nowadays.
What about Mat Hugo, who I found, let's say, over confident? I think he
might actually have got a job in meteorology after his degree. Surprised
he's not been on "The Apprentice" ;-)

Yes I remember Matt Ego, I liked Nigel, he was rough and ready but was
honest with no pretentions just pure enthusiasm.

I somehow thought that NG had become Santiago?

Probably way of beam.

Matt was one of my 'nearest neighbours' up in Rossendale so
it was always useful to compare observations.
He also used to be a regular on the mirc weather chatroom. I was
never a heavy user of chatrooms and haven't visited one in years,
is the weather one still going I wonder?

I also found this list from 2001 when I ran a fantasy weather
temperature league where you had to predict the min/max temp at a
location of your choice seven days ahead. Trevor Appleton won by
(sneakily) choosing The Scilly Isles, although he may have come unstuck
in the last couple of weeks. On reflection would have worked better with
a fixed location for all. Anyway the list then was:-

Tom Bennett
Luke Lavers
Stan Kellett
Graham Coyney
Trevor Appleton
John Hall
Alex Stephens
Darren Prescott
Dave Cornwell
Victor West

So only two or three missing - I have a feeling Victor may have gone to
TWO as there was/is a V.West on there who was also from Wickford and has
a dry sense of humour.

What ever happened to that Lawrence bloke?

Dave

Victor West is still around over on TWO known as WESTV I believe.

He lived in Nunhead if I recall.
