It seems likely. Looking at the Met Office website, I can only access the last 6 hours' observations. At 14:00 the temperature was 7.8°C and it fell steadily thereafter. Pressure was high and the wind very light, so any dramatic change in temperature over the preceding few hours seems unlikely.
