So whats going on with the weather then? Wheres the rain?

Global warming discussions aside, whats the immediate cause of this very
dry weather we've been having this year? I read in a paper a while back
that lack of ice in the artic might be a partial cause.

On a related topic, where is all our rain going? Unless theres been less
evaporation from the ocean it must be heading somewhere.

The quick answer is 'I have it'.
It has been raining hard here for much of the day so far.
While we did have a warm and dry spell, and I needed to water my wild
strawberries on three consecutive days, there is no shortage of the wet
stuff here.

Where are you? Looking at your name would Italy be a good guess?

The Mississippi is having record floods, from snow melt and rain.

I suppose it's no use talking about "Buchan Spells" then , is it? ;-)

Bone dry here in SW Essex. A colleague looked at the sky this morning
(before going to golf this pm - lucky chap) and said "I've brought my
waterproofs because the BBC forecast says it's going to rain". I bet
him a fiver that it wouldn't and I'm just about to go out and buy the
pint and a half of lukewarm (southern) beer that I've won.

[Before anyone's hackles rise, it's taken 20 years, but I quite like
the southern brew, BTW]
