That's what it looked like walking back through the woods this afternoon.
The ground was covered with leaves, but didn't look right. They were all still green!!! On a serious point though, I reached up a few times and bent the leaf stalks that were still on the trees. SNAP every time. They were bone dry and brittle. I wonder how many of those leaves would have come off if we had had some rain over the last few months. Half an hour later I was soaked to the skin when the last of the front went through. 1.5mm in 20 minutes. About 1% of what we really need. jim, Northampton |
