Wednesday 13th July 2011 UK min. temps on Tuesday night http://tinyurl.com/3ho629d snip Wick 2.8°C, Shap 2.5°C, Aboyne 2.0°C, Loch Glascarnoch 1.4°C, Aviemore 1.3°C, Altnaharra 1.0°C. .... indeed notably cold. Since that list was produced, the Met Office give the lowest found that night (12th/13th) at Kinbrace (Sutherland) with -0.8°C, which looks reasonable given the location; although I haven't got a complete list of 'all-time' values for the summer/autumn months, IIRC the 'records' for early/mid July would be around -2°C, so the Kinbrace value is certainly 'noteworthy'.
