![]() Taken from RTE newsfeed circa 20:10 this evening: Over the past 24 hours 87mm has fallen, bringing the total so far this month to 157mm - more than double the monthly average and four times more than fell in the entire month of October last year. Over one month's worth of rain has fallen in the past 24 hours at Casement Aerodrome according to the Met Office. 90mm today alone according to Irish Met Office. It's been bad in Dublin with emergency services called into play in the city. Cars abandoned in places. Major shopping centre, Dundrum, closed early and then flooded on basement floor. Other buildings badly flooded and some reckoned to be closed to businesses tomorrow. Rail and bus services disrupted. Clearing away slowly and glad to say it's stopped raining here...at last.
