Default [WR] S.Essex, heavy rain, windy, very cold

Car thermometer was showing 5C in heavy rain at low levels in London
earlier. Maybe my AWS 6.0C was more accurate but 10.6mm of rain and
strong winds so far. John was right when he said it would have been
interesting if it was January. In fact if it was I would venture that it
would be our worst blizzard here since the 80's.

I was thinking that this morning - I think warmer air would move in from
the south and turn stuff to rain but by crikey we'd have probably 12-18
hours of snow before it.

Incidentally the Met Police have announced £20 on-the-spot fines for anyone
heard making a "it's the wettest drought ever" gag.
