Andrew - When you post to Usenet, it helps if you quote sufficient of the post (and the poster's name) to which you are replying, so readers can see the context of the post and the reason for your words. When I read yours here, I had to go searching through my list for a read article, as it had long disappeared from my current list. In answer to your question - It will be the first time in quite a long period, that sea temperatures will be high enough, in relation the the air temperature, to allow significant convective forcing. With all the warm/hot air around of late, SSTs have been too low to do this. -- Mike Posted 21/09/2003 22:42:08 UTC Coleraine Seeking information about the Internet and the way it works? - Subscribe to news:uk.net.beginners |

Hi Les We have just had our first shower with small hail, here in Coleraine. The single cells are well seen to the north of me, over the sea. Temp is currently 9.8C. -- Mike posted to uk.sci.weather 22/09/2003 09:36:09 UTC Coleraine Seeking information about the Internet and the way it works? - Subscribe to news:uk.net.beginners |

Mike -
The CF is still to clear here, we're getting continuous moderate rain, temp 13c here near the coast. Bring on the single cells and hopefully not these stratocumulonimbus jobs, ones with decent anvils please (: EGNT 221020Z 30005KT 4000 -RA SCT010 BKN014 11/11 Q0999 Les -- Les Crossan, Wallsend, Tyne & Wear 55N 01-30W, Home of the Wallsend Stormcam - http://www.uksevereweather.org.uk "Mike Tullett" wrote in message ...
