Don't get carried away for next week

I was apparently born under a whopping great anticyclone in September of that year, which might explain my weather preferences! My own memory is that the weather broke around the time of the August bank holiday, following which it ****ed down for most of September. I heard a tale that said that when it started raining at a Test Match at Lords/The Oval towards the end of August, the crowd started cheering. -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl |

Nowadays he would be named Minister for Climate Change and wouldn't have to keep changing his spots. On further thought, perhaps we have such a beast. Roger |

I know hindsight is a pretty wonderful thing Will, but I thought at the time you were laying it on pretty thick about a wiggling cold front and the potential of flooding in parts of N England mid week. I just didn't want to contradict you - perhaps that's why I always preferred being an observer and never made it into forecasting! Bruce. |
