Default No code red???

I'm really surprised that as of 1715 a red warning has not been issued for
NE England given the current disruption, time of day and the present radar
imagery.

Hi, Will,
Not really surprising given our location, bring back the weather centres.
Event total now 100.7mm here.

We have a yellow warning for rain - and the evening paper full
of banner headlines about gales and photographs of roads blocked
by fallen trees.

Isn't the fun all over by now? Last night was a bit excitable wind-wise
but only 13.7mm of rain overnight. There was an amber warning according
to the tv.

All those cars stranded on a major trunk road, eg, I would have thought
merited a red, plus also it is still raining hard and rivers are still
rising. Yes bring back the Weather Centres that were abolished in 2006 as a
petty cost cutting measure.

No it isn't. The main band of rain has been sat over northern England
all day, it doesn't seem to be moving at all. This is dumping a
significant amount of rain on top of ground saturated by yesterdays
significant accumulations.

You an I are well removed from that main rain band. Been a sunshine and
showers day here in Surrey.

Freed from the shackles of your former employer, are we now going to hear
what you really think from now on?
