Only for iPad 2 and 3, not the original iPad though, which many will have

That's Apples fault, I'd venture to suggest. The app was, reasonably enough, developed for iOS 6 but the original iPad won't support that platform - I think.

TBH I think it's a shared responsibility - anyone developing for a given
platform will be aware of the limitations of that platform.

But hopefully a Windows 8 RT version is in the works too.

I've got nothing to do with the development but I'm guessing it just might not be possible for it to work at all on the iOS 5 platform. It wouldn't make much commercial sense to deliberately snub the earlier iOS iteration.

It's a really nifty app anyway.
