Here on the North Shropshire/North Staffordshire border after 24 hours or so of continuous snow, (heaviest mid morning/early afternoon today) i have measured generally 13 or 14cms of level snow in various places in the garden with amazing drifting/sculptures driven by the wind all over the village. A fantastic winters day!.

![]() Weren't you writing this winter off not so long ago? ![]() I'm the first to admit John I had written it off completely, never thought this month could change so dramatically, from that very mild benign state into a full blown bitter cold wintry spell ![]() Today took me back to January 1979, snowiest month I've ever lived through. I have to say it's got a long way to go to get anywhere near 1979, but it does look like this cold spell could go on for a while longer yet. To add insult to injury...................... it's still snowing here, that's 27 out of the last 28 hours ![]() Graham |
