Default Winter wonderland in some areas of Devon; mainly upland Devon

In article ,
Dawlish writes:
It's like this in *upland* Devon with no snow in most lowland areas.

Will didn't say that there was snow in lowland Devon. Since Hay Tor /is/
in Devon, I can't see that Will's subject line was wrong, and it could
mislead only the most hard of understanding (which hopefully doesn't
include anyone on here). Why don't you forget the grudge that you seem
to bear towards Will? It only makes you seem petty.

I left the group?? What an odd phrase. Think about it a little.

It still isn't snowing in most of Devon and it isn't a winter wonderland in the bulk of Devon.

What a foul little thread this has turned into with some people using it to re-iterate their hatred and hobby horses.

Dennis, that's exactly how it started with me and you won't be able to ignore them. Leave now would be my advice and don't post again, unless there's a good reason. Hughes and others like to make up stories about people who don't fit their idea of how people should act and be and that's fine, but don't lie, Hughes and moderate your foul language would be good advice for you to follow. I never regret finding out exactly what people like you are like.

I "left" for very different reasons - it just got boring, with same things trotted out week after week and any deviation from that, though the number of posts and post views were far higher in the threads of interest, drew the same incredibly boring and predictable reaction from some old people, who I realised I just don't like and are not worth spending time discussing anything with; so I didn't any more.

Things move on and so do newsgroups. Good luck to those who I got on with, but I know from your emails that you feel the newsgroup lacks a great deal now and the fall in the number of contributions reflects that - like it, or not, dear vultures. Some of you won't read this post, as you've left, I know. It's mainly a list of weather reports (excellent though, Colin and Darren - two reasons why I still visit and thank you both) and one far right-wing old nutcase. Like I said, I have no regrets leaving others - although one actually followed me and stalks me elsewhere! That's really very flattering and about as scary as being stalked by a dead sheep. *))

It's hard to believe anyone could be so emotive about Will's posts - it's
almost a vendetta at this stage. It's obvious Will's a cold lover and
excited by prospect of cold weather we don't normally experience. It's the
way he is and many others too.

So what? Is it deliberate misinformation for any gain to post he had a
winterland experience IN Devon? Personally I didn't think so and didn't give
it a moment's notice until the barney started....again.

Thank heaven's a certain Piers Corbyn doesn't post here...or maybe it's a
pity he doesn't? He's be a much better focus. I see he's now taking
ownership, almost, for the "new" science that is Sudden Stratospheric
Warming claiming it's a Weatheraction revelation! Proven or unproven it's
certainly attracted a lot of interest this year and I have to acknowledge a
certain Ed O'Toole, Netweather's chionomaniac, for providing a lot of
interesting information and insight into this. The Meto's information has
also been very informative. Lots to see and learn for the future and
thankfully we don't have to rely on Piers!

Meanwhile, Paul, keep smiling. It's a new year...

Default Winter wonderland in Devon

For goodness' sake, Paul, put a sock in it.

Nobody with more than half a brain would interpret 'Winter
Wonderland in Devon' as meaning 'whole of Devon under snow' any
more than 'rain in Scotland' means 'raining everywhere in
Scotland' or 'idiot in newsgroup' means 'everyone in the
newsgroup is an idiot'.
