around 0855z as I was doing this observation. Full deck of thick medium
cloud, with some scattered ST SC underneath. The Wrekin has a cap of cloud

1200z: 17005KT 40km 7SC020 10.6/9.6 QFF 997.6 falling.
SYNOP: 11582 71705 10106 20096 49976 57015 69901 70162 875// 333 87620=
Rain didn't last too long, it had stopped by 1000z and was only ever light.
Some rain visible to the west, but not affecting the visibility overly.
Berwyns are now visible - and they still have a bit of snow on them (behind
walls/hedges, I think) - as has the Wrekin. Clouds resolving into what
looks like a typical (for Shropshire) warm sector 'look'. Pressure and wind
traces displaying evidence of lee wave activity.

Mild and breezy since the warm front went through at 1205z. In fact, a
record mild January day for me (records only go back to November 2007
though). Typical Shropshire warm sector conditions, with excellent
visibility and an undulating cloud sheet - the visibility is at least 60km
in most directions, spoilt by "limited" visibility to the west and
north-west (can't see the Berwyns any more). Gusty southwesterly winds,
although not as strong as last night. Highest temperature so far this
afternoon was a balmy 14.1 (1435z).

A windy and damp end to the afternoon. Still mild, but light rain started
at 1530z and has continued on and off since then - with the odd short-lived
moderate burst too. Windy with gusts into the mid-30s (knots). Highest
January maximum for me today at 14.1 (records start Nov 2007).
