*sigh*. I kind of hoped that on a scientific newsgroup people would have

more intelligence than to resort to ridiculous negative sweeping

generalisations such as this, but there you go. Very disappointing.

It's Larry all over. riddled with prejudice and running from all sorts in his past.

He's running from a bunch of other threads too. To which he's imparted other facets of his wisdom..........

London is the most populated and most important city in the UK so it should get more coverage. Who cares if three sheep and a hill farmer in Wales gets wet;I don't. That sort of stuff is only for weather records and farmers.

As for Manchester -well we all know the weather up there...wet.

I was only leg pulling anyhow. I couldn't care less about London and in a couple of years I'll be gone. Nice memories but not the same place as when I were kid. Jim you need to leave it out, calm down 'ave a nice plate of jellied eels, some pie 'n' mash and settle down me old cocksparrah. When you feel such anger again, count the buttons and pearls on your 'Lambeth Walk outfit, coat and trousers.

Well I was just winding the ante up as I do get annoyed by people who always raise this same argument. I watched Carol Driftwood the other day talking about rain in the Grampians or something and equally thought that was just PC old tosh. Honestly does it matter; we have literally wall to wall access to weather now , not like 490 years ago when you had three TV channels, radio and newspapers and then our appetite for all weather things was never sated and I bet like me many kept news paper clippings and weather reports..

So there's so much weather now it's almost meaningless being devalued by over exposure.

As for you Garvey: Only you would see a man swear and another man stab somebody and then only report the one that swore because you didn't like him.

As I was waving a deliberate red flag, let me ask you. Do you also think London should disappear under a mushroom cloud?

All these terms are freely babbled out by the army of 'forecasters' we are

Local forecaster on TV tonight uttered "unseasonably cold". In truth,
he should have stated "bloody cold"!

Maybe he likes his job, and wants to keep it?

Unseasonably cold seems a very apt description to me. Weather
presenters who swear on air would soon find themselves gaining a P45, I
suspect.

For most of the time, feeling cold is subjective anyway. A forecast
with subjective elements is never going to please everyone.

I used to cut the weather maps out of the Guardian.
So obviously they had a left wing bias but I didn't have any choice
as it was the paper my parents had delivered.

No worries Col

Weather forecasting was free from politics in those days. I actually started keeping a scrap book for my cuttings. In fact somewhere in the loft I have Piers Corbyn's first mention in the Telegraph. It was a small piece in Dec IIRC, 1980 where he was at it then predicting a very severe winter which in reality was boringly benign. However a year later he would have been spot on. Maybe he didn't realise the clocks went back and got his forecast a year out.

I know what you mean Lawrence, socially Wolverhampton has changed a lot
in the 51 years I've been alive. Particularly from 1997 onwards with
Labour's idiotic open immigration polices.

I don’t mind change but it has to be done slowly. It's obvious over the
generations humanity will meld into one race, as global travel becomes
easier and cheaper.

However, I feel that I don’t live in my own country in mine our city. I
long to live in a market town or village were there are few or no
foreigners.

I hope no left wingers read this, they'll report me to the police for being,

You've guesssed - RACIST!

Joe
