But it isn't. Not where Keith is. I don't understand why everyone in the
sunny areas have to post and tell Keith how sunny and warm it is where
they are. His point is that where he is it is bloody awful and the
forecasts were for warm and sunny weather there as well, albeit
retracting to patchy cloud after the event and now predicting the solid
cloud the day following we got that as well. The S.E is often the
hottest part of the Country with the record high at present so with mid
June temperatures largely in the 12-16C range he is entitled to draw
attention to it despite the good weather in the West!

It is that London-o-centric forecasting method they use.

17C here in N Yorks and looks like the sun might break through this pm.

Farmers were frantically silaging all weekend and fledgling sparrows out
are sat out on the lawn. Serious shortage of housemartins, swifts and
swallows up here. I'd estimate about a third of the usual quota!

I suspect that the trouble is that the North Sea is much colder than it
normally is at this time of year. (Incidentally, Adam is based in
Horsham IIRC, which is not exactly the west, though I'm sure it's had
fair better weather than the Essex coast.)

But it *was* glorious in eastern Scotland on Thursday, Friday
and Saturday, and on Sunday and Monday afternoons. Certainly,
there was an easterly breeze, but not enough to negate the
sunshine.
