Default Low cloud in East a little bit reluctant to clear me thinks...

Hi

So much for the low cloud soon burning back to the East coast. I think the models were a little bit too enthusiastic in getting rid of it so quickly.....
The latest visible image at 1330 UTC still has much of England, Wales and Southern Scotland covered in it...

The only counties that seem clear are Devon & Cornwall by the look of it!

Looks like its the SW 14 the SE 6 when today's max temps come in!

A lot more comfortable today down here in Mid Devon with a high of 27.7°C and a dew point around 15 or 16 and a good 10 kts from the E.

I notice that Heathrow are only 37th in the top 119 sites in the UK as reported by the 1300 UTC data from DataPoint.

Makes you wonder how stubborn that clouds going to be tomorrow in the East?

Bruce.

It began to break up in my part of SW Surrey around 3pm, and it's been
largely sunny from about 4pm onwards (though there are now a few clumps
of cloud around).
