SYNOP: 42582 52004 10217 20166 40099 50004 85801 333 85822= Variable cloud yesterday afternoon, with a few light showers. Becoming cloudy during the evening. Moderate to heavy rain 2230z to 2330z, with light occasionally moderate rain till around 0200z. SYNOP: 42686 62206 10247 20116 40101 53003 81136 333 81845 86075= Quite dry air across the area now, with a conseqent rise in the base of the cumulus. Thickening cirrus streaming in from the south-west. 1010.7 steady SYNOP: 12586 72703 10206 20133 40107 51006 69902 81832 333 10248 81825 87075= Still plenty of cirrus streaming across from the south west. Surface wind suddenly veered westerly at 1550z and has been from that direction since. Some lower-looking Cu to the west over Wales, but the Cu to the east over England looks to be a much higher base.
