Variable cloud yesterday afternoon, with a few light showers. Becoming
cloudy during the evening. Moderate to heavy rain 2230z to 2330z, with
light occasionally moderate rain till around 0200z. Lots of low stratus
around at first this morning with some light rain and drizzle, but the cloud
has lifted and broken during the past two hours, and become convective too.

Quite dry air across the area now, with a conseqent rise in the base of the
cumulus. Thickening cirrus streaming in from the south-west. Top
temperature so far this afternoon is 24.8 (1401z)

Still plenty of cirrus streaming across from the south west. Surface wind
suddenly veered westerly at 1550z and has been from that direction since.
Some lower-looking Cu to the west over Wales, but the Cu to the east over
England looks to be a much higher base. Excellent visibility.
