Default Remarkable rain in south-east

For this region. 20.2mm in AWS since 6.30pm makes it second heaviest fall of the year. And good modelling at 48hrs by GFS that said at least 16mm. Still light rain falling at 1.38am

I checked my manual gauge this morning 32.6mm - which is just 0.2mm short of that rain on 24th to 25th July - a top 25 event. Unless somebody has been playing with the hose?

Good to get your data Scott, but for some people it will be pretty
meaningless because you do not give your location.

Looking at the Shoeburyness synop 26.6mm in the 24 hours to 7am this morning and still damp and drizzly. For me near the airport, 23.0mm since 7pm last night, plus 6.8mm yesterday brings an almost 24 hour total of 29.8mm (1.17 inches), looking at the countryside you wouldn't have thought we'd had such a dry and parched summer.

For everybody it's meaningless. What City/Town do you live in or near
to Scott? At the moment it's the counties of Essex, Kent, Sussex,
Surry, or Middlesex. ;-)

FWIW, here in Blackheath the rain gauge was about 29mm this morning, and
I see there was a flood alert for the Ravensbourne catchment last night
too.

Is it ever again going to be dry enough to do a bit of gardening without
getting soaked?

In fairness, Scott is a regular contributor here for msny years now and
if he forgot to put Wanstead,East London, for once I'm surprised people
don't know. I know for example you are in Wolverhampton Joe, although
you don't say so ;-)
