Default A cold day

Just a note to say that Tuesday was the coldest September day (11.1C) in Coventry since 1983 (10.6C).

Quite surprising to find a day so cold in September mid-month, rather than at month's end.

Just out of interest, our coldest September day (to 1892) recorded a high of just 7.8C in 1952.

I've already had my first sub 10°C day of the season, 9.6°C on the 16th.
Pretty dismal with frequent heavy showers and windy.
Typical of November.

eh? First sub 10 C here was way back on 6th Aug, early hours of the
morning though. Looks to be about half a dozen other sub 10's in Aug
as well.

16th Sep gave us sub 5 C, again morning just before sunrise. Temp
then rose quite rapidly but didn't get above 10 C.

Lit the wood burner for the first time since the beginging of the
year last night. Burning to night as well.

I meant sub 10°C as a *max* as I think you know full well.
Steve's post was obviously referring to maximum temperatures.

I recorded a min of 9.7°C on the 6th August, the first of the 'season'
but given that the previous sub 10°C min was July 5th (also 9.7°C)
they can ocurr throughout the summer and any idea of a first/last
date when such a temp is reached is meaningless.

Yes Col, I noticed on the radar, that you had showers all day off the
Irish Sea on Monday, then there was yesterday's rain.

At least we had a fine day on Monday.

It's looking like next week is going to be fine and warm.
