For the record I would question how much and why any government agency spent on any event outside its remit.

So with that out of the way my objection is to you - as so often - politicising what is supposed to be a scientific newsgroup; doing it under a misleading heading which indicated the content might be pertinent when it is in fact off topic without being announced as such; and doing it by linking to an image from the objectionable website you chose. I thought that was perfectly clear.

That you have opted not to address this concern speaks volumes; but I have nothing more to say on the matter.
