Getting quite excited about this and it is looking increasingly warmer, as pressure builds from the SW. The coming warmth and sunshine should make the whole country feel so much better!

The extended charts tonight have shades of 1990 about them - which was a dry, warm March. And a superb summer followed.

It was odd; GEM now falling into like with the other models and we could be in for an extended period of high pressure and some excellent weather. Can't wait to get in the garden!

GEM really was way out of line on this one and was missing the development of this anticyclonic weather, next week, completely. Now it shows pretty much exactly what the gfs and ECM show - an excellent week, weatherise, in prospect.

I think the top temp on Sunday is likely to be in this range. Will we have the first 70F of the year? Doubtful, but not impossible!

Highest March temperature here going back to 1959 is March 28, 1965: 22.2C. I wonder if the date record is under threat?
