England rainfall accumulations, daily coverage?
Folks,
Does anyone produce a daily gauge or radar-based accumulation map for England? The best I can see are the weekly rainfall reports he https://www.gov.uk/government/collec...ts-for-england (they used to be on the EA website). Their spatial resolution leaves a lot to be desired. Cheers, David Kilham. |

David, Probably not quite what you are looking for, but 24 hour UK radar rainfall accumulation is available here (you may have to subscribe, I am not sure if the accumulation facility is available on the free version). http://www.netweather.tv/ -- Bernard Burton Wokingham Berkshire. Weather data and satellite images at: http://www.woksat.info/wwp.html Dear Bernard, Thanks for that, hadn't noticed the accumulation product although hint to netweather, perhaps some examples showing the products would be more of a sales pitch. In a few weeks we're finishing our stint on the NE edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, having moved here from Bristol. The microclimates are amazing, with distinctive fog, cloud and [I perceive] rainfall, that vary almost through every valley and fold of the landscape. The online raingauges are nowhere near us, so would like to be able to tie accumulations in with hydrology. There's a significant lag in the chalk between the rain and the streams rising. Have obs of those, but nothing to tie them with. I'm sure this is a familiar lament, but does anyone know why the MO/EA data isn't available, even as a past archive? Cheers, David. |
