Dry apart from the early drizzle. The last 9 days of the month have produced only 4.5 hours of sunshine unless we get a bit more this evening, which seems unlikely. Max temp 16.5 Same here Norman we'd had around 0.7 hours sunshine all day then a miracle happened at around 17.30, the skies cleared to allow a fine evening. Sun hours today a whopping 2.3 hours bringing the May total to 107.8 hours. Only 1983 with 101.5 hours has been duller in the last 45 years. Start of June looks a bit grim in these parts ![]() Graham |

May 1983 might have been a dull and cold one but look at the summer that followed. It seemed to be one of endless sunny days right through the school holidays (I only have one memory from 1976, that of brown grass - I was too young). -- Nick Gardner Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |
