The forecast made by the Meteorological Office yesterday was an UTTER joke! We had less than an hour of rain on the Heygate. I even managed to BURN my forehead fixing the Sierra. Those clowns at Exeter couldnt forecast the outcome of a Chinese election.

If their biggest fail "ever" was to rather overdo some thunderstorms then over the years their record must be pretty good, don't you think? Tudor Hughes, Warlingham, Surrey. |

So, according to you, a single forecast by the Met Office was an "UTTER joke" because just one location in the whole of Britain had "less than an hour of rain". This compares with years of "UTTER joke" forecasts by your lord and master. What happened to all that cold weather that was forecast for last winter - and the winter before? They always said that some places may miss any rain completely, as is the nature of storms. The only joke was the hype in the Express! -- Keith (Southend) "Weather Home & Abroad" http://www.southendweather.net Twitter:@LawnscienceEssx |

An amusing side story: that image of the Heygate estate was taken from the Strata Tower http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strata_SE1 As you will see the tower which was completed in 2010 has three massive wind turbines (very green) which have never operated (even greener). Now whether these faux turbines gave an edge in planning permission with Southwark or possibly ken Livingston's offices back in the planning days is a strong possibility. Anyhow they have never worked to my knowledge . Anyway London's great stature as a city was really down to the Victorians and they loved a folly. |
