I was expecting it to turn cloudy this afternoon and it did, but didn't
see the deep depression forecast which passed by this evening :-(

Having slept on it to avoid the inevitable kneejerk comments my take on it is: Same old England. Pile of sh*t. Accommodating Rooney changed our shape from the Italy game. Roy Hodgson seems a nice bloke but we need a manager (and an FA) that is prepared to tell the media to stuff themselves and pick players on merit, not reputations

It's the word "depression" that threw me.
A decent depression is far from lacklustre. I think I would rather watch a game of tiddlywinks than a bunch of grown men running around kicking -or in the case of the English national side, passing around an overstuffed bladder.

Apparently they don't get paid for it. Maybe if they were offered something (a few hundred thousand pounds each perhaps for every 90 odd minutes they are prepared to spend on a field being watched by idiots...) they might feel a little bit more involved.

Not that I care.

Most likely scenario - Italy beat Costa Rica (although far from a
given), England beat Costa Rica (just because it's the sort of gesture
we make!) while Italy and Uraguay play out a convenient draw that sees
them both through.
