On the NWS METARs, visibility reduced to fog levels by precipitation often appears as fog / freezing fog (depending on temperature), I think. http://forecast.weather.gov/data/obh...tric/KNYC.html Total rainfall equivalent recorded at New York Central Park in the whole event seems to be 19.8 mm.
