More gales with winds from the south, 60+ kmh. No way to know about the
gusts. Temperature about 5° or 6° so not cold. Completely cloudy with not a peep of sunbeam. The BBC has removed the yellow warning of wind even though the forecast is unchanged. Perhaps this 60k wind isn't as nasty as the forecast 60k wind, or something. The postie just called - she looked a bit bedraggled but, as she said, at least it's warm enough. -- AS http://minnies.opcop.org.uk/ |

It would never have occurred to me that some 60mph winds would be nastier than others, but certainly some 6 foot tall people are nastier than other 6 foot tall people, so it's quite logical, really. **Not**. Anne ![]() Aye but what would we do without them? There'd be no one to look up to. Isn't there some saying about winds in March ... in like a duck, out like a wombat ... or similar? I can never remember which way round it's supposed to be (or if it's even vaguely true). If an old wife goes by the house, we'll drag her in and ask her. -- AS http://minnies.opcop.org.uk/ |

Thanks ... we should be well set for a lambly ending to the month then. I tend to use 'wombat' as a general one-size-fits-all noun. If there's a reason for that, it escapes me although we can't entirely rule out stupidity. Seems we may get lynxes (sp lynges?) soon ... a wolf or six would be good too. Meanwhile, it's raining in big, blobby drops. (Someone will probably post that there's a law of physics which makes all raindrops equal - let's hope not in both respects.) -- AS http://minnies.opcop.org.uk/ |

Meanwhile, it's raining in big, blobby drops. =================================== This is a thread like any other and you can obviously do with it as you will. But have you considered maybe starting a new one each month to stop this one getting ever larger? (And especially given the inability of some in these parts to understand the meaning and social utility of snipping.) |

I post a weather report three or four times a week and start a new thread for each one. That is, I believe, how it is done. They each appear separately on my computer, as do everyone else's daily (or intermittent) reports. -- AS http://minnies.opcop.org.uk/ |

Bring on the lamb (but not to eat). -- AS http://minnies.opcop.org.uk/ |

John's using a Mickeysoft product with which to read the posts; something was bound to go wrong. ;-) I guess MS Live Mail is identifying threads according to the subject; not a good idea. -- Graham P Davis, Bracknell, Berks.
